FAQ: Booking

  • How far in advance do I need to book?

Makeup appointments can be booked as soon as two days before your requested date. For photoshoots I recommend booking at least two weeks out from your appointment but no farther than a year out (this includes weddings). I have a very busy schedule here in Denver and I do appreciate a little notice before booking so I can plan accordingly.

  • Do you require and deposit or retainer?

I do not require deposits for makeup services booked through my site. You will be required to enter a debit/credit card along with your contact information. Don’t worry – you will not be charged upon booking and your information is securely and privately stored in the booking system. Your card will only be charged on the day of your appointment, for no-shows or late cancellations.

I require deposits for photoshoots, which are communicated in your contract upon booking. I also require a deposit or retainer for booking a wedding. Your date will be secured once I receive a 50% non-refundable retainer as well as a signed contract.

  • Can I book makeup + photo packages?

Absolutely! Most of my photoshoot packages include makeup since I know how to correctly apply makeup for photography and want to make sure your skin looks beautiful in your photos. I love being a part for your shoot since I will know all of the details of your project and can make sure everything flows seamlessly and is executed perfectly for you!

FAQ: Makeup

  • How do I prepare for my makeup appointment?

One week prior to your appointment please keep your skin care and facial regimen consistent by washing your face and moisturizing daily. I HIGHLY recommend not doing any new facials or peels that may irritate your skin. Drink plenty of water. Clean up your brows by tweezing or waxing. Bring a hair tie to keep your hair out of your face during your application. Wear a low cut shirt without a collar to avoid getting makeup on it when I blend under the jawline.

  • How long will the makeup last? What brands do you use?

My makeup will last all day without needing any touch-ups. This excludes lips (due to eating/drinking etc). As a professional makeup artist, I am able to apply and set your makeup to ensure it looks as beautiful in the first hour as it does at the end of the day. I’ve even had some bridal clients say that their makeup stayed on throughout the end of the reception even after tears! I use a variety of high-end beauty products that I’ve had a lot of success using on a wide range of clients over the years. My favorite brands include Dior, Nars, MAC, Hourglass, Laura Mercier, Makeup by Mario, to name a few.

  • How long does makeup application take?

The length of makeup applications are listed under my booking site but vary on the complexity of the look. For natural looks I block out 1 hour and for more dramatic looks I block out an hour and a half. Special FX or costume makeup can take anywhere between 2-3 hours.

  • Are you able to travel for makeup? If so, what is the travel charge?

Yes! I am happy to travel to you for convenience and comfort in your own home. Cost of travel will vary depending on location. I charge a flat rate of $50 for local Denver travel and an hourly fee of $50/hour for travel outside of Denver. I am also able to travel out of state and require flight accommodations, hotel reimbursement and daily travel per diem.

  • Do you have experience with ethnic, mature, or acne-prone skin types?

Absolutely! I love working with all skin tones, ages, genders, and textures. I always mix several foundation shades to make the perfect custom color to match each of my clients. All of my makeup and skincare products are meant for delicate or sensitive skin. If you have specific allergies or sensitivities, please contact me before your appointment.

  • What happens if I cry or sweat?

Not at problem at all! I only use water-resistant and waterproof makeup, especially on my brides. Sweating and oil production is expected so include oil blotting sheets, extra lip product and powder in my touch-up kits, which can be added on to any of my packages for an extra $10. If you need to itch or touch your face for any reason, make sure to tap with your fingernail and never rub or wipe!

  • Can I book for partial makeup services? i.e. just eyes or just face?

Unfortunately, I am not available for partial makeup services. For a look to be complete and accurately represent my level of work, the entire makeup application will need to be done by me. This will also ensure that the makeup will blend seamlessly and last all day.

  • Are false eyelashes included? Can I opt out?

False eyelashes are included since they really complete a makeup look. It adds an extra touch of glam and eye definition, whether it’s natural or dramatic. For some “extra light” or super natural looks, lashes may not be necessary. Regardless if you choose to get them or not, they are built in to my makeup prices. If you have lash extensions, you may choose to have individual/strip lashes applied or you may also opt out.

  • What is your makeup specialty and area of expertise?

I honestly have experience with all styles of makeup, but I have the most experience in glam, fashion and editorial makeup. My clients request a wide range of looks such as natural or neutral makeup, bridal, editorial or special FX. To me, makeup is such a powerful art form and there are many different uses for each style. I’m so passionate about makeup and its range of expression and love challenging myself to do anything a client requests!

FAQ: Photography

  • What campera/equipment do you use?

Currently I use a Canon R and switch between a few different lenses while shooting. My favorite lenses to shoot with are my 100m macro and 24-70mm. I use Paul C Buff strobes for studio lighting with a variety of reflectors and modifiers to achieve different looks and styles.

  • Do you do video?

Yes! I’ve done several beauty/fashion videos as well as behind-the-scenes and creative videos for brands. Please email me for examples of my work and to give me more information on what you’re looking for. Video is another passion of mine so I’m always looking for more projects to challenge myself with. Even if it’s something i’ve never done before!

  • What if I want more photos than the package includes?

I LOVE when my clients purchase additional photos! It just means that they really love their pictures and I helped them achieve their creative vision. I offer additional photos at an extra fee per photo or various bundled rates if you purchase 5 or more.

  • What types shoots can I book?

I offer a variety of photoshoot options you can read more about under the booking page on my site. Some examples include beauty/fashion, branding, portrait, boudoir, maternity, and fitness!

  • Do you send raws? How do I pick which photos you edit?

After the photoshoot, I email over a digital gallery via Pixieset. It’s similar to Instagram where you heart the photos you like/want edited and I can see your selections on my end. The photos in this gallery are watermarked for copyright purposes and can not be delivered without editing. As a professional photographer, I prefer not to send raw photos since they don’t accurately depict my work and photo style. In some cases I can send raws for an additional fee.

  • Can I add filters or personally edit the photos when I share on social media?

Like most photographers, I appreciate it when my clients communicate any changes they'd like to be made to the photos rather than modifying themselves. I have a lot more tools at my disposal and prefer my clients not to make changes to my work. Unless a client has purchased a separate copyright license from me, it is technically a breach of copyright law to modify someone else's work without their permission. I do love it when my clients share my work online and tag me in the photos so I can reshare them!
